Question for Bloggers to Answer

There are a ton of blog articles online. What going to set your website apart from others is the main question you will need answer. The answer to this question starts before any steps are taken to build your website. This question might be existential to you personally but it’s one that needs to answer. However we will talk about more practical question bloggers to answer

What’s the purpose for your blog?

Why do you write? To make money? Express your opinions? To promote your business and build your brand? Do you want to create a stronger connection with customers or subscribers by adding more interesting content to your existing website? To give your creative instincts an outlet? How about some combination of these?

Of course, you already have an idea about what your blog may be about, since you are already thinking about it. But you still need to be clear and specific about what it is you would like to achieve. This will come through in your writing. Are you looking to create articles with buyer intent? Maybe you’re looking to inform or inspire: or an hybrid of both? When writing have a clear purpose and express that clearly.

How will you communicate with your readers?

It is important for you to convey authority, confidence, and good humor in your tone. The facts and the interpretations of them should be presented with simplicity, and clarity. It is important to remember to be respectful to both your intended audience and those who disagree with you or dispute your claims.

Converting people to your side is a simple matter, but you don’t have to do that to keep them on your side. You should always approach the undecided and uncertain as if you were speaking to a general audience that may or may not be sympathetic, and you should always put your best foot forward while you try to gain their trust.

In regards to blogging or social media, don’t engage in argumentation while supplementing your post with additional facts. It’s always a great idea to thank your supporters regardless of their response to your efforts.

Will your Blog Be an Authority Site or Support Site?

This is pretty straightforward: If you’re blogging as a means of promoting a product or service—if advertising, public relations, and SEO make up part of the motivation for your blog—you should place it in a special subdirectory on your main website. The better way to find your target audience—and to increase their likelihood of finding you and being receptive to your ideas—is to develop your blog into a separate site. That’s the best approach since the blog is its own entity.

Blog Style and look

Colour choice matters. Readability matters. Logical organization of material does too. The overall aesthetics of presentation matter. A lack of clutter matters. Your blog should offer readers a pleasant and harmonious sensory experience, and that requires more than just smartly chosen words well-phrased. Readers are more likely to accept your message when you present it through creative design—the effect is mostly subliminal, so it’s more powerful.

The assumption is that you will make design choices that reinforce and complement your message, and here an experienced content marketing agency can offer quality services and assistance to help you get started and keep your momentum for a long time.  However keep in mind you do not want to invest money and a lot of time into this stage of your website. Focus on user experience and how to blog flows as a reader vs. creating a stunning visual masterpiece. Most time simple is best so keep this in mind as you start. You can always make changes over time and as you get better.

What is you Niche and Sub-Niche?

Once you have a general idea of what you wish to write about, you may wish to narrow your scope a bit. Look for something that your readers might find particularly compelling or informative in your subject matter, or you’re offering, but that has been overlooked, underrated, misunderstood, or taken for granted. The ability to approach old material from new angles will help differentiate you from your competitors, as well as provide you with a blog voice that is original, relevant, and prepared to impart useful information.

Understanding the sub-niches of your primary niche allows for an massive expansion of new content. This will allow discovery of underserved topic ideas that will help new sites rank for. Creating articles on hyper specific target keywords is the best way for your pages to rank fast.

How often do you plan to post?

This is a very important question that you need to be clear about answering. Here’s two things you need to keep in mind. First, don’t post too infrequently. That’s the way it works in the blogosphere (not to mention dating). In general, posting too often is not considered to be harmful.

The second thing you ought to do is to make your posting as consistent as possible, regardless of how often you make it. Every time visitors visit, you want them to know that they will receive fresh content. However memorable, creative, or captivating the writing might be, inactive and inconsistent blogs will soon be forgotten, and the virtual dumps will be strewn with the rotting carcasses of these poor misadventures.

Quick Tip: posting everyday for the first 60 of your blog helps with your Google traffic. This tells Google that you are serious about putting quality content out and to come crawl my page as often as possible. But if you can’t post everyday this doesn’t have a negative effect. It will take longer for content to index and longer for Google to understand what your blog is about.

Do you have any plans on how to market your blog?

Yes a big part of blogging is SEO and having Google or other search engine send you traffic. But until you have build an audience and gained authority you will need other ways of generating traffic. The goal for every blogger is to be read, and they need to be read if they are doing it for marketing purposes. To build a consistent readership or client base, you’ll need to be as determined and inventive as your ambitions demand.

It’s important to remember that even if you succeed beyond your wildest dreams, you still have to maintain what you have achieved. Marketing strategies should be multi-faceted, with extensive online activity and networking, building email lists, cultivating relationships with bloggers, website, and personal communication. Any way to tell them where and what you’re doing will surely help them.

Blog planning, creation, and maintenance can be a time consuming process, and they require a good deal of work. It is for this reason many prospective bloggers choose to outsource some or most of the work. However, with some research, planning and asking for help you can accomplish a lot as a one-man or one-woman show.
