Index Page on Google

Index Page on Google is a core part of telling Google you have new content on your website. Creating new content but Google don’t know about it will killing your traffic potential. So what are index pages, and why do you need your pages index. Page indexing is archiving the content you create on the internet, like a Dewey Decimal System. This tells Google to come visit my page and ad it to the search results.

Indexing a new page can be easier than you might think. Today we’re going to talk about three simple ways you index pages on Google. By letting Google know you have content ready to be seen plays into the partnership we have with Google. When creating a new page it’s up to you to tell Google. This applies to any content new or updated, so any changes you make the pages have to be reindex.

3 possible Index Cases

There are three possible cases in indexing. The perfect case, the not so perfect case and the you don’t want to be here case. The perfect case will have the most to date page ready for ranking. This is ranking you high and drive a lot of traffic to your site.

The not so perfect case is google doesn’t you you have updated content. Google is still relying on old information, and if you’ve added more content Google doesn’t see this. If you are trying to rank for multiple keywords with the new content, Google won’t know. Each time you edit any exciting content to have to inform Google about the changes.

And finally the you don’t want to be here case. Google doesn’t know your pages exits and will not show your content. This means no traffic to your website. Creating great high quality content means nothing if your content doesn’t show in the (SERP) Search Engine Results Pages.

Index Case Study

In 2019 a study done by showing how fast some large websites content would index with Google. The study compared site like the Guardian, Target, Routers, and Eventbrite. Here’s a graph below illustrating the results of that study.

The graph showing the Guardian is represented in blue, Target/red , Routers/yellow, and Eventbrite/green. Notice how the Guardian is getting 95% of their new content index by Google on day 1. After one week the Guardian is getting 100% of their content index. Take a look at Target, Google is only finding 5% of their pages published on the first day. After a week it’s found 75% of new content, a full week has passed and Target is still playing catch up.

Not having your pages Index means Google can’t show you content in the searches. No searches means no traffic is being generated by these pages.Eventbrite is even worse, almost 50 % were still not found by Google after 2 weeks.That’s half of their content, which hasn’t been found by Google and cannot be shown by Google to its users.

Today I wanted to talk about an issue that we found that is actually related to JavaScript and SEO, but it’s actually not – it’s not really JavaScript. So I shared my opinion with both John Mueller and Martin Splitt about, okay, JavaScript SEO is dying. Because once you guys are gonna have more computing power to – to render it, it’s not going to be needed anymore. And they actually both – John and Martin – went on like a seven – ten-minute monologue, or we could call it a sales pitch for our services – saying that JavaScript SEO is going to be needed more and more and more.

How Many Pages are Index by Google on my Site.

You need to know how many pages are index on my site. Webmaster should be doing a site audit every 2 weeks. Once you post new content you want to index as soon as possible. So by have a audit schedule you can keep close eye on how pages are performing.

After 2 weeks it seem that Google stop looking, and that content will probably never be found. So your site will lose traffic if search engines never index your pages. Just remember slow content is dead content. Waiting a week to have your pages index could mean getting a jump in ranking.

So be like the Guardian and get most of your content index by the end of the first week. Make sure Google knows your page exists the moment their created. Any update to existing content will need to be reindex as fast as possible. Any changes you will need to tell Google. You want to update content, improve your SEO and rank for more keyword? By informing Google of these changes you can optimize your content for more keyword targeting.

Tips On Updated Content.

Tip 1. Internal Links

Adding a link to a page you created or updated that already appears a lot in Google. A good candidate for doing this would be your homepage. But adding to many link to your homepage could have a negative impact, so use caution. User experience is an important ranking factor, and having your homepage anchor with links is not good.

A good tip to use is to take the pages that gets the most impression by Google and link from them. To do this you will be using Google webmaster tools, ( Google Search Console). This is a free tool that Google offers for content creators and site owner to use. Take the page pages that are index and getting the most impression and link from them in descending order. Only link the pages that needs to be index and related.

Tip 2. Add an XML sitemap

What are XML sitemaps? Sitemaps are a series of code that act as a door to your website. By having a sitemap to your site you’re giving Google permission to crawl your site. Google will look at the sitemap first, before they look at the site itself.This tells Google what the site should be and help you index page on Google.

It’s also good practice to add your sitemap URL(s) to your robots.txt file.

A sitemap code contains the last modified date, so Google looks at that for any changes. If you are using WordPress you can use a plugin for the sitemap. I would recommend Yoast SEO, this is a free plugin and is great for SEO.

Google Search Console

If you haven’t registered your site in search console, it’s very important and essential. Once you’ve created an XML sitemap add it to search console, alone with the URL of your website. The most effective and powerful for a index page on Google is to simply tell them. Using google search console is telling Google to come to my site and take a look.

If this is the first time using search console, then all of the content on your site will be index. This process will take a little time, and that’s based on how much content, and pages it has the check. Google will finish this testing and it will figure out that it can index the URL and then it will submit it to the index. Now you know how to index page on google incredibly fast or an updated page, re-index incredibly fast.

You know why it’s, so important to get your new and updated pages indexed by Google quickly and how to do it. Don’t wait for Google to find your page by chance. It may take weeks or never happen in either case.

Don’t wasting time and you’re, losing traffic.  Make sure all pages have a link from a relevant page on your site that’s already shown in Google results. Add a sitemap to your site and submit pages to search console when you update them. Using the webmaster tools that are free by google is very important to the success of your site.

If you have a small site, you can just submit through search console but logical, internal linking is good for ranking, and then XML sitemap means that you have a safety net. Even if you forget to submit manually, Google will find the new or updated page, and it will just be a little bit slower, but you can forget you. My advice would be, each time you create new content manually index page on Google using search console.

You want your content to be ranked the highest and seen first. By waiting for Google to check your site for new pages just simply tell them and you will have better rankings and more traffic.
